About Us

The LEADS in a Caring Environment leadership capabilities framework (LEADS) has quickly become the leadership framework of choice for health care organizations across Canada. LEADS is becoming the common leadership language across all levels and roles within organizations contributing to health system transformation

The Canadian College of Health Leaders is proud to launch LEADS Canada, previously known as the LEADS Business Unit. LEADS Canada is the sole-source provider of LEADS-based leadership development services and partners with organizations, authorities and regions to facilitate not only the adoption of the framework, but a cultural shift required to fully imbed LEADS throughout an organization.

LEADS Canada and its team of licensed LEADS Facilitators and Certified LEADS Coaches provide customized leadership development programs, services and tools to deliver a range of informative and practical leadership development opportunities for organizations and individuals.

The unique approach used by LEADS Canada, as it partners with organizations across Canada to support and encourage adoption of the framework  is the LEADS Community for Practice. The LEADS Community for Practice provides opportunities, venues and platforms for those using LEADS in different roles to connect, share resources, tools, experiences and learn from each other.

As a member of the LEADS Collaborative, LEADS Canada shares the mission to develop, support and sustain LEADS-based leadership capacity for health system transformation.

As the leadership development services centre of the LEADS Collaborative, LEADS Canada recognizes that to build leadership capacity across the country we must be flexible in the delivery of services while remaining true to our principles and values. Given this, we will selectively partner and collaborate with other organizations through a variety of relationships that will include:

  • Delivery of core, high quality leadership development services by certified LEADS Faculty and Coaches
  • The use of licensing agreements for use of the LEADS framework, services and programs as a strategy for expanding service capacity to support use of the LEADS framework.
  • Establishment of independent contracting relationships to access key expertise.
